What the name of the website where you can buy games cheaper?
Main Post:
I recently got a pc and remember hearing about a website that sells game keys for cheaper than it would be on steam but can’t remember what it’s called for the life of me
Top Comment: Look on isthereanydeal which aggregates a lot of key sites.

Top Comment: Idk what magic OP worked but he kicked up the most useful recommendation thread in a long time. A lot of legitimately interesting games I haven't seen anyone mention. My contribution is Dawnsbury Days, a tactics game with the rules of the tabletop RPG Pathfinder 2nd Edition. The story is nothing special, it's really just a string of tactics battles, but if you like having a lot of character and party build options, with more in the expansion and mods, it's great. https://store.steampowered.com/app/2693730/Dawnsbury_Days/
Where do you buy games? Curious about resellers too
Main Post:
I usually buy through Steam, but I’ve seen people mention other sites that offer Steam keys.
Are those actually worth using? Any you’d recommend or avoid? << Important!!!
Also, is this the right place to ask? If not, happy to take suggestions on where to post.
Thanks in advance!
Top Comment: I usually use whatever has the lowest price oh http://isthereanydeal.com I haven't actually investigated it to any degree, but I've been told that they don't list any shady sites and everything they list is legit.
Steam games under 10 bucks that are good?
Main Post:
It really annoys me how most games these days seem to cost your soul and then some, making it tough to enjoy gaming on a budget. I’m curious—are there any genuinely good games under $10, whether on sale or always cheap? I’d love a mix of both 3D and 2D recommendations.
I'm looking for tons of replay value or good content to enjoy. avoid horror titles and arcade like games. The cheaper the better.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
Top Comment: Dying Light is $4 right now. One of the many excellent titles from 2015
WHY TEAM CHERRY MAKES CHEAP GAMES
Main Post:
I've seen a lot of surprise around the leak of Silksong's price, which is supposedly 20$. So far it's not from any official sources yet (EDIT: not anymore!), but I do expect it to be around that price regardless. Quite often I've seen the sentiment that if the game is bigger than Hollow Knight, and they don't need to attract customers anymore, why sell it at such a low price? In my mind there's a few reasons:
1. They literally do not need money
In the past 8 years Hollow Knight has sold over 15 million copies. This makes it likely the best selling metroidvania of all time and one of the best selling indie games of the past ten years. Team Cherry is rolling in cash. Also, they have three people on the permanent payroll and like, maxiumum five others that they need to pay significant sums of money to, PLUS their marketing budget for Silksong is basically non existent. They could probably sell this game for ONE dollar and make a decent profit.
2. They're good people
Turns out, 20 dollars isn't so cheap everywhere. A lot of places in the world don't have the same economic prosperity that many of us enjoy, and games that cost 50-60 dollars are simply not feasible to buy to many fans of said games. TC has stated that a big part of the reason they made Hollow Knight so cheap is so it could be accessible to fans who might not be able to buy industry standard "full price" games. There's no reason that we've seen why they would change this mentality for Silksong. In fact, taking inflation into account the two games are priced almost exactly the same.
3. Making it cheaper might make them more money after all
Listen, I'm no expert on economics, but I know enough to understand that when the price of a good goes down, the demand for it goes up. Because cheaper games are more accessible, they will inherently be able to reach a wider market than if they were more expensive. The 20$ price might very well cause silksong to be more financially successful. For a game that relies mostly on word of mouth marketing (and does so very well,) the price is gonna make a lot of people who might have otherwise not been interested to turn their head and give it a shot.
Top Comment: They said the real reason themselves! "We want all of our games to be affordable for everyone"
Best free/cheap games?
Main Post:
I want recommendations, but I am also broke. I have 8 GBP in my steam wallet, so anything within that would be appreciated
Top Comment: I know this is a dirty word to some, but Epic Games gives away a free game every single week, and some times during special events or holidays, every day. I have 233 Free games in my Epic Library anywhere from indy games to AAA titles. Create an account and start claming them (usually every Thursday at 11am Eastern time).
Where to get pc games cheaper?
Main Post:
Steams sale ended and just got my pc wanted to know the sites ppl use for keys that have best deals while also being credible
Top Comment: OP if youre looking for key resellers then id recommend to not use those sketchy websites because the keys are most likely stolen and may get removed. if you really want cheaper games then id suggest looking at special offers in the steam frontpage. ive read online a long time ago about someone buying a 100 dollar steam gift card and then got all the games they purchased with that giftcard removed. most likely the seller will ask steam for a refund after they sold their game key/gift card
Best cheap games you have
Main Post:
I see people posting about their mega rare and expensive games on here, what about the cheap almost free games you have that you think deserve more attention? For me it's unreal tournament for the PS2 (costed me 2€) because it's a great port and although the auto aim is excessive it makes you feel good aiming with a controller, this is balanced out by the difficulty tho, you have plenty of maps, guns and powerups and you also have your clássico gamemodes like deathmatch, capture the flag... Also there is mutations that change up the game making it slower, faster, modifying damage... I would also pick skate 3 for the PS3 (costed me 3€) because of the amount of stuff you can do, the gigantic map you can explore, all the cool tricks and the fact that you can (sometimes) still play online.
Top Comment: I love Extra Innings on SNES and NES has a ton of great ~$10 titles. Dragon Spirit and Batman for example.
What websites sells cheap games and are trustworthy?
Main Post:
So far I only have instagaming, but it would be nice to be able to compare prices.
Top Comment:
r/gamedeals and https://isthereanydeal.com for the cheapest legitimate stores.
Best inexpensive (or FREE) video games?
Main Post:
This may seem like a weird question, but I'm looking for some great games that are cheap or free. I've never been much of a video game enjoyer, but my boyfriend and I are long distance and only see each other in person once a week, so our go-to has been Stardew Valley nights online.
I have Steam and would love some mulitplayer ideas to bring up to him! Budget is ideally less than $5-10 (or free!) per game.
Top Comment: I wrote out a huge comment and Reddit didn't save it. Cliffnotes: Amazon Prime, Epic Games, GOG Games, Legacy Games. Also search for SNES games online. If you are old like me, you can enjoy all of the Super Nintendo games you forgot about, enjoy!
Cheap Open-World Game Suggestions?
Main Post:
Hey, all!
I've recently acquired enough PlayStation rewards points to redeem a $10 USD gift-card from their online store. I know it's not much, but it's a nice bonus to get a free game or two!
I've been in the mood for open-world games recently, having just platinum'd 'Mafia: Definitive Edition' (I know it's not really as "open-world" as other games, but still...) and having hopes of platinum-ing the next two games in the series.
I have always loved open-world games, but there are still a lot that I haven't played. A few examples of my favorites would be the following:
- Red Dead Redemption II / RD Online
- Grand Theft Auto V / GTA Online
- Arkham Knight
- Marvel's Spider-Man
- Ghost of Tsushima
- Assassin's Creed (the whole series)
- Mafia (the whole series)
Since I have this free gift card, I was wondering if y'all have any suggestions for other open-world games I should try that would be under ten bucks. For example, I frequently see 'Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition' and 'Watch Dogs: Complete Edition' on sale for cheap... neither of which I have played. Are either of these games great? And, also, what are any suggestions for ones I should look into?
Thanks!
Top Comment: Witcher 3 is under 10 usd and it's amazing of course
